Fort Chiswell Chapter demonstrates our commitment to "God, Home and Country" through meaningful service to the Bristol community and beyond. Our members dedicate hundreds of volunteer hours each year to projects that make a real difference in people's lives.

Ongoing Service Programs

Veterans Support

  • Annual wreaths for veterans' graves

  • Support for local VA facilities

  • Cards and care packages for deployed service members

  • Participation in Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies

Education Awards

  • American History Essay Contest: Annual awards for middle school students

  • DAR Good Citizens Award: Recognition for high school seniors demonstrating dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism

  • Scholarships for deserving students

Historic Preservation

  • Grave marking ceremonies for Revolutionary War patriots

  • Maintenance of historical markers

  • Documentation of local history

  • Preservation of genealogical records
