I want to thank everyone for all they have done to help us achieve much this year.
Our Chapter has been recognized by National and State on a number of items this year. Ann Holler and Carol Propst were recognized by National for the volunteer contributions. Shep Parsons won first place in 8th grade Nationally for participation in the Junior American Citizens essay contest. He also placed first in State and Eastern Division. Shep is the son of member, Shana Parsons. The Chapter was also recognized by National for Outstanding Membership Growth and also awarded the Blue Ribbon for Chapter Achievement Awards. We also were recognized for 100% participation in the President General’s Project.
On the State Level, Nancy Estes and Kay Grott were recognized individually for outstanding contributions. The Chapter won awards for Most Outstanding Chapter Promoting the American Flag, Literacy Promotion, Excellent Chapter Program to Honor CSA Awardees, Appreciation of Support for C.A.R., Double Helix Trailblazer, DNA Discovery, Appreciation for Increase in Magazine Subscriptions, Outstanding Chapter Participation in DAR Genealogy Workshops, Outstanding Chapter Promotion in GEP Programs, Support for DAR Schools, and for Participation in the 2024 Community Service Awards Program. Jim White and Carol Propst were the recipients of these awards and were recognized at our Christmas Lunch.
We also had district winners for our American History Essay Contest.
